Excel Tip: Cell Anchoring

Cell anchoring can be cycled by using the F4 key on your keyboard.
The levels of cell anchoring are as follows:

A1 No Anchoring
$A$1 Fully anchored. The reference will always point to that cell
$A1 Column anchored. Function with this reference can be expanded to fill a column, and will always reference the designated column.
A$1 Row anchored. Function with this reference can be expanded to fill a row and will always reference the designated row.
